Are you passionate about empowering students through communication? We are looking for a dedicated and qualified Sign Language Interpreter to join a dynamic educational network for the remainder of the school year. This is a fully remote role, providing vital support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they have equal access to education in a virtual setting.

What You'll Do
As a Sign Language Interpreter, your role will be instrumental in fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Your responsibilities include:

Providing real-time sign language interpretation for virtual classes, meetings, and other educational activities.
Collaborating with educators to create accessible and effective learning experiences for students.
Adapting instructional materials and communication methods to meet the unique needs of each student.
Monitoring student progress and sharing feedback with students, parents, and relevant stakeholders.
Maintaining accurate records of attendance, progress, and interpreted assignments to support educational outcomes.

What You Bring
We are seeking someone with:

A degree in Education, Special Education, Sign Language Interpretation, or a related field (associate's or bachelor's level).
Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter or an equivalent credential.
Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and an understanding of deaf culture.
Previous experience in an educational setting, especially working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (preferred but not required).
Excellent interpersonal skills for building meaningful connections with students, parents, and colleagues.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage remote assignments effectively.
Comfort and proficiency in using technology to support online communication and learning.
Active licensure to practice as a Sign Language Interpreter in the state of New Mexico.
