Summary of Job Duties:

The Coordinator of UREC Sports assists with the administration and oversight of the Club and Intramural Sports programs at University Recreation + Wellness. This position also assists with program initiatives and requirements including, but not limited to, year-round sport activities, budget, policy development enforcement and adherence, and assists in the management of student employees. In addition, they will manage the recruitment, development, and retention of Club Sport Officers

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least one year of work experience related to this position (Graduate Assistant Position considered one year of experience)


Applicable Equivalencies May Be Considered For The Above Qualifications

  • Current, valid American Red Cross AED/CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain within 45 days of hire
  • Supervisory experience of student staff


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in recreation, sports management, higher education, student affairs, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education
  • At least two years of work experience in collegiate club sports or intramural sports program administration (Graduate Assistant Position considered one year of experience)
  • Success in the development and implementation of recreation programs to a diverse population at a large four-year institution
  • Demonstrate experience in training and supervision of multiple part-time staff, emphasis on intramural sports officials and supervisors
  • Demonstrate proficiency in recreation software programs and applications across a variety of technologies
