Responsibilities:

The Indirect Underwriter analyzes and makes credit decisions within established lending guidelines to support achievement of Credit Union’s loan portfolio growth and profitability objectives. The Indirect Underwriter is responsible for performing credit analyses on loan applications, assessing risks, rendering decisions, promoting products and services, providing customer service, and assisting in special testing and audit projects. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring compliance within internal policies and regulatory standards, identifying loan restructuring opportunities for members, cross-selling, testing system updates, assisting in auditing preparations, and mentoring new or junior lending associates. The Indirect Underwriter must have knowledge in all lending products, lending regulations, and current market conditions. The Indirect Underwriter is also responsible with assisting in other areas of Consumer Lending as needed.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Visually able to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading
• Ability to sit for extended time periods
• Sufficient manual skill for operation of PC keyboard and other standard office equipment
• Ability to travel, including occasional overnight travel
• Ability to exert minimum amounts of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects

 

Qualifications:

3-5 years of related experience

Education Level: General and business knowledge equivalent to a high school diploma Certifications: Required to register and maintain a unique identifier with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (“SAFE Act”). This must be renewed on an annual basis from November 1 to December 31. Must also record any changes (name, address, or any outdated or inaccurate information) within 30 days with the NMLS Registry Compensation Overview:

This figure serves as the entry point in our salary range, and there is potential for the actual salary to be higher based on a variety of factors, such as your experience, skills, education, and location.
