Job Description
Software/Controls Engineer to join our client's Automation team. This position involves programming and managing control systems for industrial equipment based on customer specifications and schematic designs. The engineer will work closely with other engineers and production teams to ensure projects are completed to high standards and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with engineers to install and interface with control systems.
• Ensure that electrical and pneumatic devices meet customer approval criteria.
• Calibrate, test, and troubleshoot control circuits and components.
• Develop and document new control systems from concept to installation.
• Address control issues and devise solutions to improve system performance.
• Assist in planning and strategy for automation projects.
• Define project requirements, including specifications and cost estimates.
• Maintain control over existing source code for systems.
• Create technical documentation and standard operating procedures.
• Provide technical support to technicians during equipment commissioning.
• Participate in various projects and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in controls engineering.
• Experience in validating machinery to meet customer standards.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language relevant to industrial controls.
• Servo and A/C motor systems including programming, troubleshooting, and tuning.
• Rockwell or Siemens industrial automation systems.
• Familiarity with industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of motor systems and their programming and troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics to develop or modify programs.
• Experience with control systems.
• Interest in high-speed machinery design and troubleshooting.
• Strong communication skills and teamwork ability.
• Good technical writing skills for documentation.
• Willingness to learn about new technologies as needed.
• Willingness to travel up to 35%
