Job Summary

TMI invites applications for a full-time position as Upper School Math Teacher. The role is for the 2025-2026 school year, and formal responsibilities include:

• Teaching two sections of AP Statistics, two sections of standard Statistics, and one section of Finance.
• Serving as an advisor for a small group of Upper School students.
• Fulfilling additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
• Actively participating in and contributing to extracurricular activities and the life and culture of TMI Episcopal.

• Has demonstrated success in teaching Statistics at both AP and standard levels, with a strong understanding of statistical concepts, data analysis, and probability theory.
• Shows proficiency in teaching financial literacy and mathematical applications in business and personal finance.
• Is experienced in using statistical software and financial modeling tools to enhance student learning and real-world applications.
• Provides students with effective, timely, individual feedback on assessments and works with students to achieve their potential.
• Supports the following Mathematics Department long-term transfer goals that students will:
  1. Develop strong analytical and problem-solving skills through the application of statistical methods and financial mathematics.
  2. Learn to interpret and communicate complex mathematical concepts clearly, using both technical and non-technical language.
  3. Apply mathematical thinking to real-world scenarios, particularly in data analysis and financial decision-making.
  4. Build confidence in using quantitative reasoning to make informed decisions and evaluate claims based on data.
• Provides students with effective, timely, individual feedback on assessments and works with students to achieve their potential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related fields.
• Strong eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to adapt to new and emerging technologies, especially as they concern education.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, but willing to ask for assistance when needed.
• Must be able to adapt to change quickly and efficiently both in and out of a classroom environment.
• Open to candidates with various levels of teaching experience, from recent graduates to seasoned educators. Independent School (NAIS) experience preferred.
