Round Hill Search has been retained by a high-performing national real estate investment firm with over 25 million square feet under management across 1,300+ properties in 47 states. With ambitious goals to grow assets under management to $7–10B over the next three years, the company is scaling rapidly and seeks a Real Estate Counsel to join its in-house legal team.
This role is ideal for a transactional real estate attorney with strong title and survey experience. The Title & Survey Counsel will play a key role in acquiring necessity-based commercial real estate portfolios, helping to structure deals, mitigate legal risk, and ensure seamless closings.
Key Responsibilities:
Draft and negotiate Purchase and Sale Agreements (PSAs)
Review title reports, ALTA/NSPS land surveys, and legal descriptions
Identify and resolve title defects, encroachments, and boundary issues
Collaborate with title companies, surveyors, sellers, and escrow officers
Prepare and review closing documents, including assignments, tenant notices, easements, and release agreements
Provide legal counsel on acquisition risks and due diligence matters
Support REIT and DST portfolio expansion by ensuring clean legal transfers and strategic exits
Qualifications:
JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership
Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial real estate law (law firm or title company experience preferred)
Deep familiarity with title review, survey standards, and property due diligence
Strong drafting and negotiation skills related to real estate transactions
Ability to manage multiple transactions and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
