QUALIFICATIONS:

Healthcare Management or other qualifying field. Prior experience working in a tribal setting preferred. Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability as well as three-year motor vehicle report required. Clearance from Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Background check required.   Minimum two years’ professional experience in program leadership, employee supervision, and work with at risk youth. Experience working with families and youth required.  Experience working with Tribal patients and tribal communities required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in a mixed culture context. Must be able to establish and maintain supportive and professional working relationships with staff, the public, service groups, and facility users. Must be able to establish and maintain supportive relationships with Coeur d’Alene Tribal members, Tribal departments, and Marimn Health Departments. Computer skills required. Must have received or be willing to receive COVID19 vaccination per current hiring policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provides leadership and vision to the community and distant partners to promote the program and available services.
  • Develops and promotes a culture of healing, wellness, sobriety and safety for at risk youth. Engage with youth in support of their individual service plans.
  • Hires, trains and supervises house staff in alignment with Marimn health policies. Including scheduling, conducting performance evaluations and coaching.
  • Ensures adequate staffing ratios are in place during all operational hours.
  • Supports strengths-based individual services plan for youth in coordination with their recovery coach. Coordinates access to school, healthcare and mental health appointments as outlined in the plan.
  • Acts as an example and supports youth in obtaining their education and life skills.
  • Responsible for all day-to-day operations of the Teen Shelter.
  • Ensures a comprehensive health program to include daily meals and snack in alignment with Marimn Health policies.
  • Serve as direct supervisor for Teen Shelter program staff. Ensure that staff goals are in support of all grant’s objectives.
  • Acts as a strong proponent for Teen Shelter. Performs under the ethical and professional guidelines of his/her profession.
  • Maintains the strictest levels of confidentiality.

  • Works with Grants and Finance Departments to ensure proper management and administration of grant funds.
  • Familiar with and abides by grant procurement and other federal requirements as outlined in Notices of Awards.
  • Maintains proper documentation for the approval and administration of grant funds.
  • Responsible for ensuring fair and equitable youth admittance procedures and visitor enforcement. Including documentation of admittance process, intake, assessment and care.
  • Works with Tribal Departments to provide cultural and educational activities for youth. Coordinate regular recreational and cultural activities.
  • Works with Recovery Coaches to ensure aftercare plans are in place for all youth.
  • Actively participates in meetings.
  • Develops, facilitates and documents program related to mental health and/or substance abuse issues that enhance teen services.
  • Presents workshops for patients in multi-disciplinary programs and community programs.
  • Interfaces with agencies to include courts, local community, state and federal and social services and schools.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting teen shelter data and necessary updates quarterly or as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.
