Job Description:
Sama Cellars is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tasting Room Manager to lead the launch and daily operations of our first tasting rooms. As a key team member, you will play a crucial role in shaping the identity of our winery and the success of our tasting rooms and direct-to-customer channel. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to create memorable guest experiences, build a high-performing team, and establish Sama Cellars as a cornerstone of the Washington wine community.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management:
•  Recruit, train, and manage a passionate team of associates.
•  Foster a collaborative and positive team culture.
•  Schedule staff and oversee daily operations.
•  Lead team meetings and training sessions focused on wine knowledge and service.
Guest Experience:
•  Serve as an ambassador for Sama Cellars, sharing our story and wines.
•  Create personalized tasting experiences and ensure a welcoming environment.
•  Oversee reservations to optimize service.
•  Address guest concerns with professionalism.
Sales & Membership Growth:
•  Drive sales and promote wine club membership.
•  Develop strategies to enhance guest retention and spending.
•  Manage wine club sign-ups and ensure policy compliance.
Operations Management:
•  Oversee tasting room operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and inventory.
•  Maintain accurate records ensuring compliance with regulations.
•  Manage the logistics of wine club shipments.
•  Uphold high standards of cleanliness, organization, and safety in the tasting room.
Events & Marketing Coordination:
•  Plan and host events that align with Sama Cellars' brand, including member-exclusive release parties and seasonal celebrations.
•  Represent Sama Cellars at wine walks, industry and community events.
•  Develop outreach initiatives to attract visitors (social media, partnerships, etc.).
•  Build relationships with local wineries and businesses to boost regional collaboration.
Collaboration:
•  Align strategies with ownership and Sama Cellars' mission.
•  Provide regular operational updates to ownership.

Qualifications:
•  4+ years of experience in hospitality, wine sales, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Winery tasting room experience in a lead position preferred.
•  Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
•  Advanced wine knowledge or certification (e.g., WSET, CMS, CSW) is a plus.
•  Proficiency with POS systems, reservation platforms, and inventory management.
•  Availability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings.
•  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
•  Required permits (MAST and Food Handler’s) or ability to obtain promptly.

Compensation & Benefits:
•  Competitive hourly rate: $25 - $30 per hour depending on experience, and performance bonuses.
