Riot Hospitality Group is currently looking for an entry level Staff Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team! This position will support the company’s daily accounting operations across all locations in Arizona, Colorado and Tennessse.

We're searching for a candidate who can: 

• Perform a variety of general accounting functions including journal entries, period-end closing procedures and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Review, audit and integrate daily sales into ERP.
• Post cash activity and complete weekly bank reconciliations; research and resolve variances.
• Complete weekly credit card reconciliations, including appropriate coding of transactions and ensuring submission of all back-up documentation/receipts.
• Complete weekly tip payment reconciliations; research and resolve variances.
• Support the Accounts Payable function as a backup.
• Collaborate with store-operations and corporate teams where required and appropriate.
• Provide supporting schedules during financial and tax reviews.
• Various accounting projects as needed.
• Support the review of current financial systems, processes and procedures to identify improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization and optimization.
• Support the implementation of ad-hoc and ongoing process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 2+ years of working experience in accounting roles required, with experience in restaurant and/or retail multi-unit accounting teams preferred.
• Strong financial acumen; solid understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
• Knowledge of financial systems and intermediate Excel experience required. Sage Intacct experience a plus.
• Ability to thrive in a fast paced, growing, dynamic environment.
• High level of accountability; ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines with strong attention to detail.
• Proactive, motivated self-starter, with excellent organizational and continuous improvement skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
