Mental Health Director, Montefiore School Health Program
Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP), the largest and most comprehensive school health program in the country, is seeking a dynamic Mental Health Director to join our interdisciplinary leadership team. The position is full-time with both administrative and clinical responsibilities. MSHP currently operates 34 health centers located in schools of the Bronx and Yonkers. In addition to mental care, the health centers offer medical, dental, vision and community health services to more than 42,000 students attending NYC Department of Education public schools. .
The Director of Mental Health oversees mental health services delivered at all MSHP Health Centers, including both Article 28 and Article 31 sites. Responsibilities include strategic planning; program design and development; staff supervision, support, and development; administration; and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The Director develops, documents, implements, and supervises service models that align with best-practice care in mental health for children and adolescents, are sensitive to the whole-child philosophy of the School Health Program, and are compliant with oversight regulations. The mental health team includes 2 assistant directors and multiple psychologists and social workers.
