The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy is conducting an open search for a School Assistant or Associate Professor, non-tenure track, in the Department of Practice, Sciences and Health Outcomes Research. This position requires teaching, practice, service to the school, campus and the profession, and scholarly activity as a geriatrics practice specialist.
The position is a full-time, 12-month appointment based at our Baltimore campus. In addition to teaching, service, and scholarly activity, this faculty member will provide leadership within the Lamy Center on Drug Therapy and Aging. The faculty of the Lamy Center are committed to improving older adults' drug therapy and promoting healthy aging through innovative research, education, and clinical initiatives.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore campus houses schools of Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Social Work, Law, and Dentistry. The University of Maryland enjoys an excellent established record of accomplishment of successful collaboration for interprofessional practice and research collaborations with the other professional schools on campus.
SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
This position is responsible to the Chair of the Department of Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR). Clinical and research reporting responsibility is shared with the Executive Director of the Lamy Center and the Chair. Teaching reporting responsibility is to the Chair of the Department through the Vice Chair for Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
An earned Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy plus 2 years of post-graduate training (residency, fellowship, or equivalent experience), and teaching experience are required. Eligibility for a Maryland Pharmacy licensure is required. Excellent communication and patient skills are essential. Board certification (e.g., Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist "BCGP," Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist "BCPS") and evidence of scholarship are preferred.

Communications - Knowledge of communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
This includes alternative ways to inform via written, oral, and visual media.
Education - Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum design principals evidence- based teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and knowledge of measurement and assessment.
Initiative - Willing and able to take on responsibilities and challenges.
Leadership - Willing and able to lead; take charge and offer opinions and direction.
Learning Strategies - Selecting and using instructional methods and procedures appropriate in the discipline family when learning or teaching new things.
Strong interpersonal abilities with excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with students, staff, faculty, and standardized patients.
Monitoring - Monitoring/assessing curricula to make improvements or take corrective action.
Stress Tolerance - Ability to accept criticism and deal calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
