About the Role:
The Property Accountant is responsible for accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis and providing general business support for a portfolio of assigned properties. You will work closely with other members of the Accounting team as well as Asset Management, Property Management, Leasing and our JV partners.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare monthly income tax and/or GAAP based financial statements with analysis of actual to budget variances
  • Maintain the general ledgers
  • Prepare monthly property reports encompassing data from Legal, Construction and Operations teams
  • Manage the billing and collection of tenant rents
  • Partner with the Legal team to resolve tenant billing inquiries
  • Responsible for operating, mortgage and escrow account reconciliations
  • Responsible for lender debt compliance
  • Assist with preparing annual property budgets
  • Collaborate with external auditors to complete annual audits and tax returns
  • Liaise with internal departments to answer respective inquiries
  • Special ad-hoc projects as provided and directed by members of management

Technical Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience (prior Real Estate industry experience preferred)
  • Proficient in Excel and strong analytical skills
  • Solid systems experience (MRI or Yardi a plus!)
The expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $75,000.  The actual compensation will be based on factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, market and business considerations and other factors permitted by law.
