Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Supervising Program Technician II, in the Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) Program Licensing Team, the Program Technician (PT) II is responsible for the following:

• establishing and maintaining all files associated with the CCW, including sorting, batching, and delivering the CCW incoming mail. 
• processing incoming CCW licenses and other forms submitted by law enforcement agencies by examining initial, subsequent (renewal), and amendment CCW licenses for completeness and validity. 
• inquiring and/or entering information from CCW licenses into the Firearms Eligibility Applicant File to ensure applicants’ files exist within the CCW application on the Department of Justice Web Portal. 
• creating CCW license records in the registry from data listed on initial licenses. 
• inquiring and modifying existing records according to the information obtained during the review of subsequent and amendment CCW licenses. 
• reconciling and updating registry statuses by reviewing law enforcement notices of cancellation, denial, or revocation. 
• assisting with generating enforcement referral packages. 
• preparing and processing correspondence intended for law enforcement agencies by evaluating application discrepancies. 
• creating workflow documents and spreadsheets by gathering, researching, and consolidating information/data. 
• training new or current employees on various PT II level work duties.

• The position(s) require(s) a Background Investigation be cleared prior to being hired.
