Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate counseling services to individuals and families, both in person and via teletherapy
Conduct thorough assessments to identify the psychosocial needs of patients
Create and implement personalized care plans to meet the unique needs and goals of each patient
Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Assist patients and families in accessing necessary community resources and support services
Offer emotional support and counseling, advocating for patients' rights and ensuring they receive the care they deserve
Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and treatment progress
Supervise and provide guidance to limited-licensed medical social workers (LMSWs) during counseling sessions
Regularly meet with LMSWs to discuss their professional development and progress
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
Valid therapy license (preferred)
Previous experience as a medical social worker (preferred)
Knowledge of medical coding, research, and documentation practices
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Commitment to delivering exceptional care
Licensed to practice in Michigan
