Job Description

. We are looking to hire a lead teacher for our One-Year-Old Class. The hours would be from 8:30-2:15 on Monday/ Wednesday/Friday. As the lead teacher, you would be responsible for fostering a safe and developmentally appropriate environment rooted in God's love. You would provide age-appropriate instruction and learning experience while providing opportunities for physical, social, and emotional growth

• Curriculum Development & Instruction:
• Plan, implement, and assess a developmentally appropriate curriculum tailored to one-year-olds while promoting cognitive, physical, emotional, and social growth.
• Create an enriching classroom environment that stimulates curiosity and learning through play, sensory activities, and developmental exercises.
• Teach the children Bible stories and Biblical concepts based on the truths found in God's Word.
• Classroom Management:
• Lead, supervise, and support assistant teachers and staff in day-to-day classroom operations.
• Ensure that all classroom activities are safe and engaging.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom that promotes positive learning experiences.
• Parent and Family Engagement:
• Establish strong communication with parents, providing regular updates on their child?s progress and behavior.
• Foster positive relationships with families, offering guidance and support as needed for both developmental and behavioral concerns.
• Child Safety & Well-being:
• Ensure the safety and health of children by adhering to all DSS safety protocols and maintaining a secure environment.
• Provide age-appropriate care, addressing children?s needs for feeding, naps, and hygiene in a timely and compassionate manner.
• Routinely practice safety drills to ensure the best care if an emergency arises.
• Professional Development:
• Participate in 15 hours of professional development per calendar year to stay up to date on best practices in early childhood.
• Record Keeping & Reporting:
• Complete necessary administrative tasks, such as attendance, incident reports, and developmental assessments.

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional childcare training or certification are a plus.

• Would prefer previous experience working with children in a childcare setting.

• CPR and First Aid Certification. We provide this training in October, every 2 years.

• In-depth understanding of child development principles, particularly in toddlerhood.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with families and a team.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Patience, creativity, and a passion for working with young children.
• Physical requirements include standing, bending, and the ability to lift children (up to 40 lbs).
