Job Title: Heavy Haul Dispatcher

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Haul Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the movement of oversized and overweight loads. The ideal candidate will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching drivers, ensuring compliance with all regulations, and working closely with customers, drivers, and permitting agencies to ensure safe and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Load Coordination: Assign and schedule heavy haul loads to drivers, ensuring eFicient use of resources.
Routing and Permits-Plan and provide routes for oversized and overweight loads, securing necessary permits and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, providing updates on load status, delivery schedules, and any delays.
Driver Support: Monitor driver performance, provide route assistance, and address any issues that arise during transport.
Fleet Management: Track equipment availability and ensure that trucks and trailers are properly maintained and ready for dispatch.
Problem Solving: Address and resolve any unforeseen issues such as mechanical breakdowns, road closures, or weather delays.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of dispatches, driver hours, permits, and deliveries for compliance and billing purposes.
Compliance: Ensure that all loads comply with safety and legal regulations, including hours of service, weight limits, and securement requirements.
Qualifications
2-5 years of experience in heavy haul or trucking dispatch.
Strong understanding of transportation regulations related to oversized and overweight loads, DOT regulations, and route planning.
Skills:
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS systems.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in logistics or transportation is a plus).
Licenses/Certifications: Familiarity with obtaining state permits for heavy haul transport.
