Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Furniture Repair Technician to join our team at our warehouse facility. The person will be responsible for assessing, repairing, and restoring damaged furniture to ensure it meets our quality standards. This position requires hands-on expertise in woodwork, upholstery, refinishing, and general furniture maintenance. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, self-motivated, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will report directly to the Operations Manager for the facility.

We are looking for someone who can both execute repairs as well as take the lead in minor facility maintenance such as building storage racks, minor repairs, and projects. You should be a self-started who is capable of managing your own work, and someone who continually looks to make their area of responsibility better.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect incoming and existing furniture for damages, wear, and defects, identifying necessary repairs.
  • Repair wooden furniture, including fixing joints, replacing parts, and restoring surfaces by sanding, staining, and polishing.
  • Perform upholstery repairs, including fabric replacement, cushion stuffing, and sewing torn fabrics.
  • Restore and refinish furniture using paints, stains, varnishes, and other surface treatments.
  • Utilize appropriate tools, equipment, and materials (e.g., sanders, hammers, saws, glues) to complete repairs efficiently.
  • Maintain records of repair work, including time and materials used for each piece.
  • Ensure all repaired furniture meets company quality and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with warehouse team and management to prioritize repairs and meet operational deadlines.
  • Perform touch-ups, polishing, and cleaning as necessary to enhance the appearance of furniture.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist in handling furniture and moving items as needed within the warehouse.
  • Assist with unloading inbound trucks as need, typically 1-2 times per week.
  • Lead furniture packaging on-site at client's location, typically once per week.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in furniture repair or woodworking.
  • Strong knowledge of wood, fabric, leather, and other furniture materials.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in furniture repair.
  • Experience with upholstery, reupholstering techniques, and fabric repair.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, and repair heavy furniture items.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting to supervisors.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a warehouse or furniture distribution environment.
  • Knowledge of antique furniture restoration techniques.
  • Familiarity with furniture assembly and disassembly processes.
  • Experience in refinishing and surface treatment methods (e.g., staining, painting).


Work Environment:

  • Warehouse facility with frequent exposure to moving furniture and repair tools.
  • Ability to work standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
  • Must follow safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
