If this is a limited term position, it may be extended up to 24 months and/or become permanent.

Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Office Technician (Typing) (OT (T)) is responsible and performs with independence the duties regarding the Consumner Complaints & Investigations unit within Enforcement.  The Enforcement Technician  provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Enforcement Program, assisting with complaint processing, case management, and record-keeping. This role is responsible for reviewing and logging consumer complaints, maintaining accurate enforcement records, preparing case files, and handling public inquiries regarding the complaint process.

Working Conditions

The incumbent works in an office setting with artificial light and temperature control.  The ability to use a personal computer is essential.

  • The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications (link available in the additional documentation section). Background Check Requirement:  Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA’s (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.

The incumbent must possess good communication skills, use good judgment in decision-making, exercise creativity and flexibility in problem identification and resolution, manage time and resources effectively, and be responsive to Board management needs. The incumbent must also use strong interpersonal skills to support the achievement of the goals and objectives of the Executive Officer and the Board and maintain good working relationships with staff and management.
