Job Description
We are excited to invite applications for an entry-level, non-tenured Instructional Task Lead focused on the creation, conversion, and delivery of a micro-credential program in extractive engineering disciplines, including environmental, metallurgical, mining, and geological engineering. This position is grant-funded for three years to support a new micro-credential certificate program backed by a DPA cooperative agreement.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging online coursework at the advanced undergraduate and graduate levels for the grant-funded certificate program in extractive engineering disciplines.
Collaborate effectively with departmental subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other project team members to develop and convert technical content for the certificate program.
Participate in a multidisciplinary setting, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
Utilize national best practices for online asynchronous delivery, working closely with instructional designers to incorporate meaningful interactions in the curriculum.
Conduct initial quality reviews of the curriculum to ensure alignment with educational standards and federal requirements for online learning.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in a STEM discipline relevant to the subject matter (e.g., mining, geological, metallurgical, materials, environmental, or related field).
Experience as a graduate teaching assistant.
Strong oral and written communication skills in a technical field.
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD degree in a STEM discipline.
Experience as a lecturer or instructor in higher education or professional development settings.
Proven experience teaching STEM courses in a university or training modules in an industrial context.
Familiarity with delivering online STEM courses.
Understanding of national best practices for online asynchronous education.
Experience in teaching adult, professional, or non-traditional learners.
