Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to lead our clinical programs and provide high-level oversight to ensure the delivery of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and recovery-oriented care. The ideal candidate will bring a holistic approach to patient care, understanding the importance of family, community, and culture in the recovery process. As the CCO, you will play a pivotal role in advancing clinical quality, overseeing clinical risk management, and ensuring accreditation standards are met across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership: Lead and support the development and implementation of evidence-based clinical practices, policies, and procedures to enhance patient care.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the clinical team to assess and diagnose patients, and provide ongoing support and supervision for residential and outpatient programs.
Quality Improvement: Establish and monitor clinical key performance indicators, ensuring clinical programs are continually adjusted to meet community needs.
Training and Development: Design and implement training programs for clinical staff, ensuring professional development and the continuous improvement of clinical practices.
Family Wellness: Provide leadership for clinical family wellness programs, including home visitations and family group sessions, to support the holistic well-being of participants.
Accreditation and Compliance: Ensure all clinical services meet the necessary accreditation, privacy, and regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, 42-CFR Part 2).
Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement both short- and long-term clinical strategies in alignment with the organization's goals and community needs.
Crisis Management: Provide supervisory support during clinical emergencies, offering guidance to staff in urgent situations.
Leadership Expectations:
As a key member of the senior leadership team, the CCO is expected to model the organization's core values and demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission and vision. You will work alongside the President/CEO to ensure the organization's goals are met and provide guidance for strategic decision-making.
Required Qualifications:
Licensure: Must be licensed in the State of Alaska in one of the following: Physician, Professional Counselor, Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Clinical Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist, or Psychological Associate.
Experience: At least 7-10 years of experience in providing patient care, with significant leadership experience in a clinical setting.
Certifications: Current CPR certification is required, with proof provided within 30 days of starting employment.
Advanced Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of addiction, substance use disorders (SUD), co-occurring psychiatric conditions, and related medical conditions. Familiarity with ASAM Criteria, diagnostic tools, and clinical pathways.
Commitment to Professional Growth: Maintain required continuing education credits for clinical licensure and clinical supervision.
Preferred Qualifications:
Board certification in behavioral health, addiction medicine, or addiction psychiatry.
Familiarity with the social, health, educational, training, and cultural needs of the Alaska Native and American Indian communities.
