Tech level A Job Summary: Master Automotive Technician (Tech Level A) will hold ASE A6 +A8 certifications to be considered for employment. Preferred to hold A1-A8, L1 & L4 certifications or obtain them within reasonable time. This senior technician excels in drivability, electrical, and electronic diagnosis, diesel powertrains, and familiarity with proper repair methods. This technician will be trusted to apply industry best practices to accurately identify and resolve vehicle faults. Key Responsibilities: • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and methodologies to accurately diagnose, identify root cause failure, and repair vehicle issues, particularly in drivability and electrical systems. • Apply critical thinking and deductive reasoning skills during the diagnostic process to ensure effective problem resolution and customer satisfaction. • Mentor and provide guidance to junior technicians, fostering their professional development and ensuring adherence to proper diagnostic habits. Someone who leads by example and demonstrates team cohesion and collaboration. • Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle conditions, making recommendations for necessary repairs and maintenance based on industry best practices. • Stay current regarding advancements in automotive technology, including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), hybrid, BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle), and high-voltage network systems, along with their associated safety requirements. • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of CAN/LIN BUS protocols and perform voltage drop testing following Ohm's Law principles. • Collaborate closely with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and communicate effectively with customers about necessary services. • Uphold a clean, organized workspace while following all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills. • Familiarity with service publications and demonstrates efficiency in researching bulletins and product problem research. Ability to read, understand and navigate electrical schematics. • Confirms vehicle repair using strategy-based diagnostics and road-testing confirmation. • Clock in and out of repairs for accurate labor time reporting.
Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent; associate degree in automotive technology or a related field preferred. • Proven experience as a senior technician with a history of effective diagnostics and repairs. • Advanced understanding of vehicle electrical systems, drivability issues, and industry best practices. • Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools and bi-directional communication protocols, CAN, LIN BUS, etc. • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Demonstrate knowledge of Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) diagnosis and calibration. • Possess or ability obtain state and/or emission certifications as necessary. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Tech level B Job Summary: Automotive Technician (Tech Level B). This mid-level technician will hold A4, A5, & A7 ASE certifications or be able to obtain them promptly. Leveraging their experience from a previous role as a Level C technician, the successful candidate will perform general diagnosis and repairs of vehicle faults, applying industry best practices to ensure accurate, high-quality service. Key Responsibilities: • Take on greater responsibility than a Level C technician while utilizing prior experience to diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicle malfunctions. • Record and document all repairs made to ensure accurate history and accountability. • Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle conditions and recommend necessary repairs and maintenance based on industry standards. • Diagnose and effectively repair the causes of most vehicle malfunctions, covering systems such as steering, suspension, braking, HVAC, and powertrain configurations. • Perform vehicle alignments and related diagnostic procedures. • Maintain a solid understanding of vehicle electrical systems, applying general diagnostic and repair techniques. • Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate repair estimates and effectively communicate necessary services to customers. • Uphold a clean, organized workspace while adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines. • Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to enhance technical knowledge and skills. • Conduct electronic vehicle multi-point inspections and provide detailed reports of findings. • Utilize the shop management system to log work accurately and communicate with other departments as needed. • Clock in and out of repairs for precise labor time reporting.
Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in automotive technology or a vocational education certificate is preferred. • Some ASE certifications are required; candidates should demonstrate a willingness to pursue additional certifications. • Possess or ability obtain state and/or emission certifications as necessary. • Familiarity with diagnostic scan tools, including viewing live data parameters and retrieving diagnostic trouble codes for continued diagnosis. • Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail. • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer engagement. • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
